The Cleveland Classical Guitar Society (CCGS) announced the appointment of Brian Gaudino as their first director of education on August 30th 2017. Gaudino will be focusing on expanding and deepening the CCGS program that currently teaches guitar to over 200 students every year.
The Cleveland based organization aims to make quality musical education accessible for everyone, including families living in districts that do not offer music education as part of the public school system. Among Gaudino’s many responsibilities, he also plans to widen the program’s curriculum and interact widely with the students and their families.
In a recent statement Gaudino said, “I’ve seen how transformative classical guitar can be in the lives of young people in Cleveland. I’ll be working to expand these programs to reach more students, schools, and citizens, and to touch more lives with music.”
Located in a region with imminent artistic opportunities, the CCGS looks forward to advancing their mission to “Teach, inspire and connect” with Gaudino, increasing educational opportunities in the inner city. — Hannah Schoepe
