Tugan Sokhiev has withdrawn as conductor from concerts by The Cleveland Orchestra on January 29, 30 and 31 on the advice of his physician. He will be replaced by Finnish conductor Hannu Lintu, who is currently chief conductor of the Finnish Radio Symphony Orchestra.
Shostakovich’s Festive Overture will be replaced by Sibelius’s Pohjola’s Daughter, but Tchaikovsky’s FIfth Symphony and Prokovief’s Second Violin Concerto with Vadim Gluzman will be performed as previously announced.
