The Cleveland Philharmonic Orchestra is holding concertmaster auditions for the 2017/2018 concert season. General requirements include being able to lead as principal violinist, ability to interpret the Music Director’s ideas to the entire orchestra, and attend all rehearsals and performances. The role is a paid contract position within the orchestra.
The Orchestra performs four series of two concerts each year at Cuyahoga Community College and at other venues in the Greater Cleveland area. Weekly rehearsals are held on Thursday evenings 7:30 p.m.-10:00 p.m. at Tri-C’s Metropolitan Campus Auditorium in downtown Cleveland. Major orchestral works for the upcoming season include symphonies of Beethoven (#9), Brahms (#3), Dvorak (#8), and Franck.
