Severance Hall, home of The Cleveland Orchestra, has announced a call for volunteer ushers and tour guides for its 2017-2018 event and concert season, which will include performances by TCO, the Cleveland Orchestra Youth Orchestra and Youth Chorus, the Cleveland Institute of Music Orchestra, and many other ensembles, as well as non-musical events.
“We are looking for individuals who are energetic, enthusiastic, and eager to provide our audiences with the highest level of customer service,” said Hall representatives in a press release. “Volunteers have the opportunity to hear great music in a beautiful venue, enjoy the company of other music lovers, and contribute their talents to a premier arts organization.”
Volunteers are expected to commit for the entire season and must attend an orientation and training before the season’s beginning.
In addition to ushers and tour guides, Severance Hall is also seeking members for its Junior Volunteer Corps (JVC), a program for students above age 14. JVC participants will assist adult volunteers in ushering at concerts and special events, and have the opportunity to earn community service credits.
Open interview sessions for all positions will be held on August 17 and August 22 from 4:30 to 6:30 pm and on August 27 from 1:00 to 3:00 pm. Interested persons may come to Severance Hall’s Smith Lobby during these hours to complete an application and learn about the program.
