On Saturday, October 10 at 2:00 pm in Oberlin’s Allen Memorial Art Museum, violinist Emily Cornelius and percussionist Ross Karre will perform Arvo Pärt’s iconic Fratres along with works by Aaron Helgeson, Salina Fisher Jesse Jones, Cara Haxo, and Leilehua Lanzilotti. The free concert is part of the College and Conservatory’s Homecoming weekend.
Then on Sunday, October 11 at 3:30 pm at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Cleveland Heights, the Duo will repeat Pärt’s Fratres with the Heights Chamber Orchestra — for which Cornelius serves as concertmaster. Under the direction of Travis Jürgens, the program will also include Amy Marcy Cheney Beach’s Summer Dreams, Margaret Brouwer’s Century’s Song, and Franz Joseph Haydn’s Symphony No. 99 in E-flat. The concert is free.
