IN THE NEWS:
The Cleveland Women’s Orchestra, founded by Cleveland Orchestra member Hyman Kaplan in 1935 and the oldest women’s orchestra still in existence, has appointed Jungho Kim as the third music director in its 88-year history. He fills the position held for 28 years by Robert Cronquist, who passed away in 2018. Kim is currently orchestra director at Kent State University. Read a press release here.
PianoCleveland has announced that applications are now being accepted for its 2023 Cleveland International Piano Competition and Institute for Young Artists. New this time around: pianists can participate in two separate tracks: The Competition or The Institute. Learn more here.
