Piano Cleveland announces plans for 2021 International Piano Competition

Piano Cleveland has announced that after a year-long postponement due to the challenges presented by the pandemic, the organization’s signature event — the Cleveland International Piano Competition (CIPC) — will take place from July 8 through August 11, 2021. The competition has been reimagined as a hybrid event with pre-recorded First and Second Rounds — Semi-Final and Final Rounds will take place in Cleveland. Twenty-eight contestants who were chosen for the 2020 competition will compete for an opportunity to perform with The Cleveland Orchestra and to win the Mixon First Prize of $75,000, a New York performance debut, management services, and a recording on the Steinway & Sons label. CIPC Announces 2018 Prizes in Young Artists Competition

CIPC YA FInalists 2018

Customarily, the Cleveland International Piano Competition announces its winner late in the evening of its final round, which this year featured concertos with the Canton Symphony Orchestra on Friday evening, June 8 at the Maltz Performing Arts Center. But for the Young Artists Competition this time around, CIPC kept its competitors and followers in suspense until an awards ceremony the following evening at the Cleveland Museum of Art. First Prize ($10,000): Eva Gevorgyan (13, Russia)

CIPC Announces 4 Finalists

CIPCFourFinalists2016The following four pianists will advance to the two final rounds in the Cleveland International Piano Competition. The first phase involves chamber music performances with the Escher String Quartet in Gartner Auditorium at the Cleveland Museum of Art on Tuesday and Wednesday, August 2 and 3. In the second phase, the finalists will play concertos with Bramwell Tovey and The Cleveland Orchestra in Severance Hall on Friday and Saturday, August 5 and 6. In performance order:
